Lunar Mansion Report, October 26, 2026 to November 1, 2026

This is an entry in an ongoing series of posts looking at the Moon's position and condition in the week ahead with an eye to the Mansions of the Moon. This is an exercise to help me track the speed of the Moon, organize my thoughts on the Mansions, and think about the practical applications.

All times are for me locally, United States Pacific Time. I will be making note of the Moon's phase, speed, and Mansion position in my assessment. Currently, I am not considering aspects with other planets.

Lunar Mansion Report, October 26th, 2026 to November 1st, 2026.

Monday, October 26th, 2026. The Moon is in Azoraye, the Many Little Ones, when October 26th begins. At 6:50am the Moon moves into the next Mansion, Aldebaran, the Bull's Eye. The phase is Waning Gibbous, which is wrathful and supports works of Subtraction and division.

The Moon will travel through Azoraye for 21 hours and 29 minutes. This is fast and it is 26 minutes less than the previous Mansion so the Moon is speeding up. A fast Moon can make magic happen quickly but may also make magic fade quickly.

The wrathful powers of Azoraye include sabotaging a partnership, torturing a prisoner, destroying sheep, goats, and cows (Ghayat al Hakim), to firmly incarcerate captives (Latin Picatrix). Overall, Azoraye is considered very beneficial so wrathful qualities are very few. One could use the wrathful time to interrupt or take away the good things and luck that this Mansion usually represents.

The image in the Latin Picatrix for Azoraye is a seated woman with her right hand above her head. Given the overwhelming positivity associated with this Mansion this is most likely a gesture of blessing. The traditional indicator stars for this Mansion are the Pleiades, the Seven Sisters, a grouping of stars with a long and legendary past. The Pleiades are one of the 15 Behenian stars whose powers include, according to Agrippa, "brings an increase to light of the eyes, collects daemons, promotes winds, and reveals secrets and hidden things." And the image is "a virgin girl or the figure of a torch".

The wrathful powers of Aldebaran include to corrupt a city, to build a building not expected to last or stay in good condition, destroying crops, ruining a relationship between spouses, to bring bad luck to one digging buried goods, attract scorpions and snakes (Ghayat al Hakim), for enmity and hatred (Ibn Hatim), to make a lord despise his servant, destroy fountains and streams (Latin Picatrix), and to cause fear, submission, and uncertainty (Celestial Magic).

The image of Aldebaran in the Latin Picatrix is a knight on horseback holding a viper in his hand. This image is very similar to more than a few goetic spirits from the Lemegeton. A wrathful Aldebaran is the king killer.

Tuesday, October 27th, 2026. The Moon is in Aldebaran, the Bull's Eye, when October 27th begins. At 4:00am the Moon moves into the next Mansion, Almicies, the Brilliant One. The phase is Waning Gibbous, which is wrathful and supports works of diminishment and decline.

The Moon will travel through Aldebaran for 21 hours and 10 minutes. This is fast and it is 19 minutes less than the previous Mansion so the Moon is speeding up. A fast Moon may make magic happen quickly but may also make magic fade quickly.

Almices is such a favorable Mansion that the only wrathful power listed in the Ghayat al Hakim, the Latin Picatrix, Agrippa's Three Books of Occult Philosophy, and Nigel Jackson's Celestial Magic is the sabotage and ruining of partnerships or relationships. Alternately, the beneficial powers of increased intellect and favor can be turned on their heads.

The image in the Latin Picatrix for Almices is a disembodied head, the seat of sight, hearing, and understanding.

The Moon is in Almices at the end of October 27th.

Wednesday, October 28th, 2026. The Moon is in Almices, the Brilliant One, when October 28th begins. At 1:01am the Moon moves into the next Mansion, Alhana, the Mark. Then, at 9:59pm the Moon moves into yet the next Mansion, Aldira, the Forearm. The phase is Waning Gibbous, which is wrathful and supports works of spoilage and disease.

The Moon will travel through Almices for 21 hours and 1 minute. This is fast and it is 9 minutes less than the previous Mansion so the Moon is speeding up.
The Moon will travel through Alhana for 20 hours and 58 minutes. This is very fast and it is the fastest Mansion this cycle. It is 3 minutes less than the previous Mansion so the Moon has sped up to this point. A fast Moon can make magic happen quickly but may also make magic fade quickly.

Alternately, the beneficial powers of increased intellect and favor can be turned on their heads.

The wrathful powers of Alhana include corrupting cities and confining them, retaliating from kings, inflicting harm and damage on enemies, ruining crops and trusts causing adverse effects of medication (Ghayat al Hakim), to break resistance (Celestial Magic), and to impede the work of physicians (Agrippa).

The image for this Mansion in the Latin Picatrix is a white man embracing a white woman. The title The Mark refers to a mark signifying ownership, like a brand on livestock. This is a Mansion of declaring commitments. Another symbol for it might be a wedding ring. The white man and the white woman are twin halves of a whole and Alhana weds them together.

The wrathful powers of Aldira include disposing of property, a house or money or similar assets from a person (Ghayat al Hakim), to expel flies so that they will not enter where you wish, to destroy officials (Latin Picatrix), to rid oneself of annoying or distracting influences and destroy tyrannous power structures (Celestial Magic).

The image for this Mansion is a man raising his arms as if supplicating to heaven. The traditional indicator stars for this Mansion are Castor and Pollox, the twins from Greek myth. These stars have been equated with twins for a long, long time. One was a celestial twin the other was an underworld twin and they would switch places. The man with his hands raised is one twin calling to the other in the other world. This is a Mansion suited to creating spiritual alliances.

The Moon is in Aldira at the end of October 28th.

Thursday, October 29th, 2026. The Moon is in Aldira, the Forearm, when October 29th begins. At 7:05pm the Moon moves into the next Mansion, Annathra, the Gap. The phase is Waning Gibbous, which is wrathful and supports works of hinderance and bad luck.

The Moon will travel through Aldira for 21 hours and 6 minutes. This is fast but it is 8 minutes more than the previous Mansion so the Moon is slowing down. A fast Moon may make magic happen quickly but may also make magic fade quickly.

The wrathful powers of Annathra include lengthening the imprisionment of captives and prisoners, the deterioration of kingdoms, to repel mice and bedbugs (Ghayat al Hakim), the destruction and affliction of captives (Latin Picatrix), war-magic, drive away infestations, and powerfully restrain negative forces (Celestial Magic).

The image for Annathra in the Latin Picatrix is an eagle with a man's face. The eagle is a frequent military image signifying fierceness, speed, and power. Annathra’s title, The Gap, was imagined to be the gap between the lion constellation’s jaws, or maybe under his chin. The essence of Annathra’s power to grant victory in battle is in being able to escape danger.

The Moon is in Annathra at the end of  October 29th.

Friday, October 30th, 2026. The Moon is in Annathra, the Gap, when October 30th begins. At 4:23pm the Moon moves into the next Mansion, Atarfa, the Glance of the Lion. The phase is Waning Gibbous, which is wrathful and supports works of loss and sadness.

The Moon will travel through Annathra for 21 hours and 18 minutes. This is fast but it is 12 minutes more than the previous Mansion so the Moon is slowing down. A fast Moon may make magic happen quickly but may also make magic fade quickly.

The wrathful powers of Atarfa are to destroy crops, to make unfortunate those who travel, to do evil to all men,  to cause division and hatred between allies, to cause infirmity (Latin Picatrix), and to inflict failure and weakness (Celestial Magic).

The image in the Latin Picatrix for Atarfa is a eunuch covering his eyes with his hands. The wrathful Atarfa promotes jealousy and works similar to the Evil Eye.

Saturday, October 31st, 2026. Happy Halloween!! The Moon is in Atarfa, the Glance of the Lion, when October 31st begins. At 1:59pm the Moon moves into the next Mansion, Algebha, the Brow of the Lion. The phase is Waning Gibbous, which is wrathful and supports works of erosion and corruption.

The Moon will travel through Atarfa for 21 hours and 36 minutes. This is fast but it is 18 minutes longer than the previous Mansion so the Moon is lowing down. A fast Moon may make magic happen quickly but may also make magic fade quickly.

The wrathful qualities enhanced in Algebha include harming an enemy or traveler, to matters worse for captives (Gayat al Hakim), extracting a fetus (Ibn Hatim), and the destruction of enemies (Latin Picatrix).

The image in the Latin Picatrix for Algebha is a lion's head. The Mansion embodies the symbolic qualities of a lion; strength, power, and nobility. The traditional indicator star for this Mansion is Regulus, Cor Leonis, the Heart of the Lion, also called the King Star. Regulus is one of the 15 Behenian Stars. Agrippa writes, "Under Cor Leonis they made an image of a lion, cat, or the figure of a respected man sitting in a chair: these make a man temperate, keep anger away, and give grace."

The Moon is in Algebha at the end of October 31st.

Sunday, November 1st, 2026. The Moon is in Algebha, the Brow of the Lion, when November 1st begins. In my local time the clocks have "fallen back" an hour for daylight savings. Times listed take this into account. At 10:59am the Moon moves into the next Mansion, Azobra, the Mane of the Lion. The phase at the beginning of the day is Waning Gibbous, which is wrathful and supports works of depletion and fatigue. Then, at 12:28pm the Moon makes a square aspect with the Sun and the phase changes to Waning Crescent, which is wrathful and supports works of death and destruction.

The Moon will travel through Algebha for 22 hours even. This is fast but it is 24 minutes more than the previous Mansion so the Moon is slowing down. A fast Moon may make magic happen quickly but may also make magic fade quickly.

The wrathful powers of Azobra are to besiege cities, to be feared (Latin Picatrix), loss, destruction, binding, fornication, and separation (Liber Lunae).

The image for this Mansion in the Latin Picatrix is a man riding the back of a lion holding its ear in his hand. In its most beneficial aspect the lion is fully controlled by the figure on its back and adds its ferocity and strength to the figure’s bearing (despite the figure’s somewhat precarious position). In its wrathful form subjugation and manipulation are strengthened. The concept of being next to danger but safe from it is a big theme of Azobra.

The Moon is in Azobra at the end of November 1st.
